I chose a night that worked for me and chose one that was close to my house so I would not have as many excuses not to attend.

My name is Ruby. I work in the medical field and I am a single mother who has raised two beautiful daughters. I have been truly blessed by God. I was raised in the church and still consider myself a "work in progress" in my journey with God.

I recently lost my Dad, who had been the man in my life. I always said he was my rock and he would say he felt more like my sponge – not sure what he meant by that. After losing my dad, I felt alone and vulnerable. Working in the medical field, I work weekends and cannot always attend Sunday services at Crossroads. I really missed the worship time and the messages.

I had been considering joining a Growth Group for a while, and decided that now was the time to join a group. Now came the decision of which group to join. I chose a night that worked for me and chose one that was close to my house so I would not have as many excuses not to attend. I have to admit that after the first night, I was not sure if this was the group for me. I felt a little uncomfortable – but decided to give it a few more weeks. I AM SO GLAD I DID. I now feel that I belong. I have met some amazing men and women that are true believers in our awesome God. I have laughed and cried with them. We have shared our blessings and heartaches. Our Monday nights begin with some fellowship time, which usually involves food and don’t forget the desserts that go with it! Next, Rob leads us in our study of God’s word. Sometimes we watch a DVD or he shares readings from the Bible. He does an excellent job. We then share prayer requests and God’s blessings in our lives. We end in prayer.

I AM SO THANKFUL THAT GOD LED ME TO MY GROUP.
